Notes: Leads with the lower half nicely. Tends to lead in front before posting up on the backside. Did a great job changing elevations and location w/ FB. CH showed slightly when arm slowed down, taking away some action on a potentially good pitch. Clean action out fo the hand and gets chest and head out in front keeping balanced. Wraps the ball slightly on the BB, stay behind it a little longer. Threw all 3 pitches in all counts for strikes.

Notes: Showed above average arm strength with a high arm slot and long release. Needs to create more direction and rhythm with feet and he gets on his heels and tends to be flat footed. Gets into okay fielding position but needs to trust his hands out in front of body.

Max Barrel Speed greatly affects both the distance and speed at which the ball travels after impact. According to Diamond Kinetics technical advisor Dr. Alan Nathan, "bat speed is roughly six times more important to batted ball exit velocity than the incoming velocity of the pitch."

Analyzing Diamond Kinetics Data

Please note the similarity of the different benchmark levels for our metric Max Acceleration - these are very similar across the different databases for a few reasons - We have a lot of elite/high level swings in our 17U database and we have a very wide range of collegiate swings from big elite programs to smaller ones around the country as well. This is also an area of the swing that most people have not been able to measure and look at before showing there is still a meaningful way to improve across talent levels.
